JV Green Softball Defeats Lawrence North

Hayden Rice hit two home runs and drove in four as Westfield JV Green defeated Lawrence North 19-3 on Thursday. Rice homered in the second and fourth innings. The Shamrocks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Elaina Bottorff doubled down the left field line, and Olivia Sampia grounded out, each scoring one run. The Shamrocks scored eight runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Alivia Warren singled, scoring one run, Alyvia Browne singled, scoring one run, Rice homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Sampia hit a solo home run to left field. Westfield added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Sampia doubled to center field and Sarah Blake Miller doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Six more Westfield runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 19-2. Rice homered to left field, scoring two runs, Ava Weiderhaft singled, scoring one run, Miller doubled, scoring two runs, and Kennedy Stoecker singled, scoring one run. Browne earned the win for Westfield. The pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Kaylee Graff appeared in relief for the Shamrocks. The Shamrocks amassed 17 hits in the game. Miller, Sampia, Weiderhaft, Warren, and Browne each collected multiple hits.
