Game 1: Big First Inning Leads Westfield JVW Rocks Past Kokomo Westfield JVW Rocks defeated Kokomo 13-3 on Saturday thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. Beau Kurtz singled, scoring two runs, a passed ball scored one run, Jonathan Hruskocy drew a walk, scoring one run, Ben Vollmer singled, scoring three runs, and Will Marciniec singled, scoring one run. A single by Brayden Schrock, and a sacrifice fly by Hruskocy helped Westfield JVW Rocks extend their early lead in the second. Westfield JVW Rocks added one run in the third after Kokomo committed an error. Kurtz earned the win for Westfield JVW Rocks. The hurler gave up three hits and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Colton Knotts appeared in relief for Westfield JVW Rocks and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 3 strikeouts. Schrock, Vollmer, Will Dyer, Jack Stuckey, Kurtz, Marciniec, and James Knight each collected one hit for Westfield JVW Rocks. Vollmer, Kurtz, and Hruskocy each drove in two runs for Westfield JVW Rocks. Westfield JVW Rocks ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game. Westfield JVW Rocks turned one double play in the game. Game 2: Westfield JVW Rocks Impressive In Win Against Kokomo Westfield JVW Rocks won big over Kokomo 14-2 on Saturday. Westfield JVW Rocks opened the scoring in the second after Brayden Schrock doubled, scoring two runs. Westfield JVW Rocks flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring seven runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Sullivan Meehan that drove in three. Westfield JVW Rocks scored five runs on one hit in the top of the seventh inning. Owen Watts singled, scoring one run, Beau Kurtz drew a walk, scoring one run, Colt Brady drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Colton Knotts hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Joseph Mavrick earned the win for Westfield JVW Rocks. The hurler allowed two hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking five. Carter Greeman pitched 2 innings of relief giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Will Dyer pitched two innings of no-run ball for Westfield JVW Rocks in relief. The reliever allowed two hits, striking out two and walking none. Schrock, Meehan, and Knotts each drove in two runs for Westfield JVW Rocks. James Knight went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Westfield JVW Rocks in hits. Brady led Westfield JVW Rocks with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Knotts and Knight each stole multiple bases for Westfield JVW Rocks. Westfield JVW Rocks ran wild on the base paths, tallying nine stolen bases for the game. Next up for Westfield JVW Rocks is a game at Mt. Vernon on Tuesday.
