The Westfield Shamrocks JVW were triumphant over Zionsville 6-1 on Wednesday. The Shamrocks got on the board in the first inning after Maddox Novotney started off the game with a triple down the right field line. Ryker Brenneman ended up hitting into a fielder's choice, and scored Novotney. Evan Govert earned the win for Westfield. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Garrett Tucker threw two innings of scoreless ball for The Westfield Shamrocks in relief. The lefty surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking one. Robbie Brandenburg made the most of their chances at the plate. He led the team with two hits in three at bats. Brenneman and Brandenburg each drove in two runs for The Westfield Shamrocks JVW. Kasen Jessup stole two bases and The Rocks stole five bases in the game. Novotney, Bryce Swadener, Landon Campbell, and Logan Sumpter each had 1 hit. The Shamrocks improve their record to 12-1 and will travel to Zionsville for their next game on Thursday.
